Became state: March 4, 1791
Fewer than 100 railroad certificates are known that specifically carry the Vermont incorporation. However, the number can possibly be enlarged to twice that number if companies are included that operated within the state. Harder to find, or at least harder to identify, are timber companies that operated within the state and operated non-common carrier rail lines.
