Railroad construction companies were absolutely crucial to the development of the North American continent. That does not mean that history has viewed them as anything other than menial labor.

Most railroad construction companies were named in manners that indicated their relationship to railroad. On the other hand, some such as Contract Finance Company and Credit Mobelier of America were named to disquise their purposes.

All railroad construction companies WILL be listed in this project as long as their connections to railroading can be proven.
