Plentiful reserves of timber, minerals, and livestock
has always proven enticing for railroads operating in the vicinity of
the great lakes. Especially for large companies such as the Northern Pacific,
the Chicago Milwaukee & St Paul, and the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul

be attributed to large companies.
