Relatively speaking, there are an abundant number of certificates
to collect from Indiana. Almost 700 companies are known to have incorporated
in, or operated in, the state. Over a third of those companies are represented
by stocks and bonds. Nonetheless, the Indiana state seal is quite rare
on certificates.
|

| I do not have a good sampling or early Indiana "seals,"
so please help fill out this record. The seal shown is the first
official seal, that dates from only 1963! However, it is known in
the same essential form from railroad certificates back to the 1870s.
The primary elements include a bison running toward the left while
a woodsmen chops a tree at tight. Beyond, the sun appears behind
rolling hills. |
