Delaware

One of original colonies
Became state: December 7, 1787

Some of the largest companies in the United States have incorporated in Delaware due to liberal incorporation laws. Certificates specifically labeled as "Delaware" incorporations are relatively common, with over 170 currently recorded. On the other hand, one would have an difficult time collecting a large number of railroad certificates from companies that actually operated within this small state.
