I
try to list every certificate I can find for every railroad in North America.
I define "North America"
as all land north of the coast of Colombia. I include all railroad
companies that operated in the Caribbean islands
Catalog numbers are
assigned to certificates based on company name, I maintain a list
of every railroad and railroad-related company I have
ever found reference to. Here is a breakdown of the number of companies
I have found in each country.

Certificates
from railroad companies based outside continental North America
are normally beyond the scope of this catalog. However, if a foreign
company laid track anywhere in North America or the Caribbean islands,
I try to include it.

I do NOT include companies which incorporated in North America,
but operated (or intended to operate) in countries outside of North
America.
Please contact
me if you specialize in non-U.S. countries and know of present
or historical rail companies there. I particularly need help with
southern Mexico and Central America.
