  Issuance and cancellation  

Every time I enter a serial number into the database, I record whether the certificate was issued and cancelled.

Unreliability. Unfortunately, of all the information I find, receive and record, information about issuance and cancellation is the least reliable.

Therefore, if you find errors in the list of serial numbers, then please contact me at tcox@coxrail.com.

Cancellation is a special problem. Just because you cannot see cancellation holes in auction photos does NOT mean that certificates were not cancelled. Cut cancellation are very hard to see. Even pinhole cancellations may be hard to spot if certificates were scanned or photographed against white backgrounds.
